OUR GROUP
The Greek Fisherman is part of a group of family owned restaurants. Our sister restaurant, City Grill Steakhouse, is situated at the V&A Waterfront and we are in the process of welcoming the new addition Kanela Café, a healthy and trendy coffee bar situated in the same premises in Sea Point. This café is run by the owners now grown up children. The Group’s vision – To provide individuals with unforgettable dining experiences across all three of the businesses consistently.
Attention to detail is key – in the staff that are employed, the food preparation techniques & ingredients that are used and the constant introduction of new elements to remain fresh, new and relevant. Above all, the group strives to be the best at what they do and to entrench this policy within the staff.

Meloncino
Focusing on traditional Roman food with a contemporary modern touch, Meloncino is a genuine Italian restaurant for food and wine lovers alike. Featuring home-made pasta with authentic Italian sauces, Meloncino’s dishes are filled with flavour. Steaks and seafood are available from the charcoal grill, while pizzas are created in a wood fired oven with a thin base (Roman Style) or a thick base (Neapolitan Style). To stay faithful to the original recipes, the majority of their ingredients and fine Italian wines are fully imported from Italy.
City Grill
A South African Grill experience – in a New York style steakhouse, City Grill is a one-of-a-kind food concept. It showcases a combination of traditional South African food fare, matured craft cut steak and a selection of the best venison South Africa has to offer. Steaks are matured to tender perfection on the premises and grilled in a ‘family-secret’ steak sauce. These are served alongside fresh seafood, gourmet hamburgers and more. Here beautiful cuts of meat and traditional dishes are celebrated in style.
Athenian Villa

Situated in the heart of the Overberg, Athenian Villa Guesthouse is a hidden gem behind the façade of a heritage building on the Main Road of Caledon.
In sharp contrast to its outer appearance, a beautiful courtyard immersed in greenery and bougainvillea bushes, and which boasts a small plunge pool, welcomes you to a taste of the Greek Islands. Painted stone pathways lead upstairs giving way to the authentic wooden flooring of the bedrooms and living areas, which are clean and comfortable.
Each bedroom is individually decorated with rugs, throws and artefacts of Greece and each has its own eclectic shower and toilet, although there are also communal facilities available. The beds offer crisp white linen and comfy duvets to ensure a good night’s sleep.
While its walk-in entrance is in a secret alleyway, Athenian Villa offers secure underground parking for guests accessible from the Main Road. Included in the price, clientele is invited to enjoy a full breakfast, either in the courtyard on sunny days, or in the cozy dining room in winter. Whilst not overly sophisticated, this 3-star guesthouse oozes charm and character.
